About Me

Welcome to Percura. I’m Hamd, and I’m fascinated by how the world works.
I am a 14-year-old student, software developer, and aspiring medical professional. Percura is my digital archive, a platform where I share the knowledge I’ve gathered around human biology, disease management, and the latest medical advancements.
What does Percura offer?
I noticed a problem with medical headlines. Medicine and science need a higher level of focus and with how complex and scattered journal articles can become, I felt there was a need to condense it down.
That’s why I’m taking an approach where I combine topics into two distinct categories.
Foundational Science, and Clinical Research.
That way I can cover many more topics in a more digestable way, and you get to choose what type of articles you want to read, be it recapping osmosis or critically analysing how Tuberculosis diagnostics changed after AI.
A programmer’s perspective
Beyond reading and learning more about medicine, I am an aspiring software engineer. One of my hobbies is building projects and solving problems through code. I document this over on my software engineering portfolio and YouTube at @hamdivazim.
This background in computer science heavily influences how I approach medicine. It could be looking at Bioinformatics, AI in diagnostics, or Pharmacogenomics; I’m interested in how we can use logic and technology to solve the world’s most interesting biological challenges.
Who am I?
I’m Hamd, a 14 year old student currently studying for my GCSEs.
When I’m not focused on my studies, you can find me enjoying a variety of sports. I’m especially passionate about cricket, badminton, swimming and martial arts. Physical activity is a big part of my life, as it helps me stay balanced and focused, especially with the demands of school.
Let’s connect
I’m building this archive for fellow students, researchers, and anyone curious about the future of medicine. If you have questions, suggestions for a paper review, or just want to discuss a post, feel free to reach out.
